Anthony R. Riccio
Attorney Anthony R. Riccio has quickly developed a reputation as an excellent criminal defense attorney and one of the best young lawyers in Massachusetts. He was selected to the Massachusetts Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers for Criminal Defense in 2016 and 2017, a distinction awarded to only 2.5 % of attorneys in Massachusetts. As a Quincy criminal defense lawyer, Attorney Riccio has represented individuals all throughout Massachusetts who have been charged with both misdemeanors and felonies in district and superior court, including but not limited to charges of rape, indecent assault and battery, armed robbery, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, operating under the influence of alcohol and drugs (OUI/DUI), drug distribution and simple drug possession charges.
Attorney Riccio was admitted to practice in the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts in 2016. He also opened a second office in Quincy, MA, located near Quincy District Court and just minutes outside of Boston. Previously, Attorney Riccio worked at a law firm in Boston, MA defending insurance companies against personal injury claims. He worked on claims involving injuries individuals sustained in motor vehicle accidents, construction site accidents, and slip-and-falls. With knowledge of what the insurance companies and their lawyers look for when defending personal injury claims, Attorney Riccio is a Quincy personal injury lawyer who understands what it takes to bring a successful claim for damages.
Prior to defending insurance companies, Attorney Riccio was an Assistant District Attorney for the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office from 2012 - 2014. He worked at New Bedford District Court and Attleboro District Court prosecuting thousands of criminal cases, including both misdemeanor and felony charges. Attorney Riccio was the lead prosecutor in nearly forty (40) trials, involving charges of operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs (OUI/DUI), assault & battery, larceny, indecent assault and battery, and other criminal offenses.
Attorney Riccio is a member of both the Bristol County and Attleboro Area Bar Associations. In 2017, he was selected as a board member of the Attleboro Area Bar Association and will serve in the role of Secretary. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Attorney Riccio received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Syracuse University College of Law (Syracuse, NY) in 2011. After graduating law school, he studied for and passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam in July 2011. He was also admitted to practice law in Massachusetts in 2011.
Prior to attending law school, Anthony received his Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2007. Anthony grew up in North Attleboro, MA and graduated from North Attleboro High School in 2003. He played football and basketball and was a co-captain of the varsity basketball team his senior year. An avid sports fan, Anthony enjoys golfing and playing basketball. He previously volunteered as an assistant coach for Norwood High School Girls’ Varsity Basketball, Seekonk High School Boys’ Varsity Basketball, and the Mass Premier Swish Girls’ AAU Basketball teams.
